Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopts Law "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on bringing legislation on seed growing and plant cultivation in line with European and international norms and standards"

The legislative act perfects certain terms concerning the seed growing; powers of executive government bodies in the field of public relations; grounds for granting the right to produce and use seeds and planting material; requirements as to introduction of seeds and planting material and procedure of their certification.

The law also specifies certain legislative provisions on the use of "unrecognized" seeds and planting material, procedure for carrying out control in this field, and bringing those violating the corresponding legislation to legal responsibility, etc.

Respective draft law was registered under No. 1460-1.
