People's deputies gave their approved to the Recommendations of the said parliamentary hearings.
Before February 1, 2016, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will have to inform the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine about the status of implementation of the parliamentary hearings recommendations.
The Document recommends that:
- the Verkhovna Rada take measures to improve legislation in the field of state ethno-national policy: speed up consideration of the draft law No. 1111 "On amendments to Law of Ukraine "On national minorities in Ukraine" (new wording) dated November 28, 2014; initiate amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine to remove terminological discrepancies in notions in the field of ethno-national policy;
- the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Human Rights, National Minorities and Interethnic Relations ensure holding in 2017 of the committee hearings on the status of implementation of the Strategy for Protection and Integration of Gipsy National Minority with Ukrainian Society for the period until 2020;
- the parliamentary groups for interparliamentary ties with foreign countries intensify bilateral interstate cooperation in support of culture, protection or rights and interests of Ukrainians living abroad;
- the Verkhovna Rada hold parliamentary hearings on functioning of the state language and protection of language rights of the Ukrainians both in Ukraine and abroad.
