On November 18, members of the Committee on Budget had a meeting with representatives the IMF European Department mission working in Ukraine to finalize the second review under the Extended Fund Facility Arrangement (EFF).
Participating in the meeting were deputy director of IMF European Department Athanasios Arvanitis, IMF mission chief for Ukraine Ron van Rooden, IMF Resident Representative in Ukraine Jerome Vacher, IMF mission deputy chief Stephanie Eble, IMF mission economists Etienne Yehoue and David Amaglobeli, executive director of IMF from Ukraine O. Petrik, economist of IMF Resident Mission in Ukraine I. Shpak.
People's deputies were interested in the question of approaches of the IMF mission regarding assessment of the execution of the state budget in 2015 and formation of the draft state budget for 2016. At the same time there was a discussion in the part addressing possible measures (recommendations) regarding improvement of the situation in the economy and state finance and regarding the tax and pension reform.
First Deputy Finance Minister of Ukraine I. Umanskyi briefed on approaches of the Finance Ministry of Ukraine on preparation of provisions of the tax reform and their reflection in the draft state budget for 2016.
Chairperson of the Committee A. Pavelko noted that the Committee on Budget would take a note of the information and would consider it while eyeing respective issues.
