Deputy chairperson of Committee on Legal Policy and Justice Vasyl Yanitskyi opened the roundtable. He said that provision of notary services in rural areas at present is occasional because of the distance between villages and district administrative centers coupled with improper passenger transport services that make access to notary services expensive and time-consuming. Absence of proper access to notary services causes troubles for residents of rural areas.

On the other hand performing notary practice in small towns and villages is becoming not economically viable. That is why notary services are not provided there.

Vasyl Yanitskyi noted that solutions to this problems lie in the field of legislation, in economic, social and informational aspects.

The roundtable participants are discussing efficiency of efforts taken to settle the situation and creation of conditions for proper provision of notary service in rural areas;

ways to settle the problem of access of residents of rural areas to notary service;

realization of the Law of Ukraine "On amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine regarding some matters of succession" dated October 20, 2014, No. 1709-VII;

financing of measures aiming at improvement of notary service in rural areas and remote population centers, etc.

Participating in the roundtable are people's deputies, representatives of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, other bodies of the government, the Notary Chamber of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Association of District and Regional Councils, the Ukrainian Association of Village and Rural Councils, the Ukrainian non-government organization "Association of Small Towns of Ukraine, scientists and experts.
