The event took place on November 18, 2015 with the participation of Committee Chairperson Mykola Tomenko, Chairperson of the Subcommittee for Forest Resources, Animal and Vegetable Life, Natural Landscapes and Nature Reserve Fund/people's deputy Pavlo Dziublyk, Head of the State Forest Resources Agency Oleksandr Kovalchuk, leadership of the State Forest Resources Agency, representatives of the woodworking sector and ecologists.
The participants in the meeting discussed issues related to elaboration of the Law of Ukraine "On peculiarities of state regulation of activity of entrepreneurs engaged in sale and exportation of timber." As earlier reported, in compliance with provisions of the new law, on November 1, 2015, exportation of round hard-wood timber was prohibited.
As a result of the discussion, the meeting participants decided to elaborate state program for support of forestry and woodworking industry of Ukraine to guarantee reequipment of the forest cultivation and woodworking sectors.
In compliance with the initiative of Mykola Tomenko, it is planned to present a pilot project of the State Forest Resources Agency — e-register of forestry maintenance — in order to publish information about licensing of companies and enterprises, etc.
The Committee and the State Forest Resources Agency agreed on further active cooperation aimed at support to forestry and woodworking sectors of Ukrainian economy.
