Verkhovna Rada adopts Resolution "On acknowledgement of genocide of Crimean Tatar people"

Pursuant to the document, the Verkhovna Rada ruled:

— to declare deportation of Crimean Tatars from Crimea in 1944 genocide of Crimean Tatar people;

— to make May 18 the Day of commemoration of victims of Crimean Tatar people genocide.

Respective draft resolution was registered under No. 2493а.
