The Protocol was signed in Geneva on November 27, 2014.
The Protocol envisions inclusion of the Agreement on simplification of procedures of trade to Appendix 1A of the Marrakech Agreement on establishment of the World Trade Organization.
The Agreement on simplification of the trade procedures is aimed at simplification of customs procedures through, in particular, decrease of financial expenditures related to them and shortening of time for such procedures, improvement of transparency, combating corruption and introduction of advanced technologies.
The ratification of the Protocol envisions Ukraine's joining the WTO Agreement on the simplification of trade procedures with further gradual implementation of its provisions.
The Agreement envisions assistance to developing countries in modernization of their infrastructure, training of customs employees.
