Verkhovna Rada Committee on Agrarian Policy and Land Relations recommends Ukrainian Parliament adopt draft law "On amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine" (to bring Ukraine's legislation in field of seed farming in line with European and international requirements) in second reading and on the whole

The draft law No. 1460-1 offers to improve the definition of some terms in the field of seed industry; authorities of the local executive bodies in this field of social relations; grounds to acquire the right to production and use of seeds and planting material; requirements to introduction of seeds and planting material circulation and the order of their certification.

Besides the document offers to specify some legislative remarks to use of unacknowledged types of seeds and planting material, the order of control in this field and bringing persons declared guilty of the violation of respective laws to legal responsibility, etc.

The participants of the Committee meeting noted that the draft law aims to bring national legislation in line with the requirements of the European Union.
