Its participants were people's deputies, leadership of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Ukravtodor state automobile roads agency, representatives of the Ukrzaliznytsia state rail transport administration, central executive bodies, Mykolayiv regional state administration, and non-government organizations.
The meeting participants considered the problems of the Dnieper-Buh complex and transport infrastructure of Mykolayiv region, as well as the ways to settle them at the state and legislative levels.
The Committee members discussed quality and efficiency of state administration system and control of ports' activity, eyed general strategy of development of transport-logistics infrastructure of enterprises within the sea economic complex of the Dnieper-Buh region.
The people's deputies discussed the issue of bringing port fees rates in line with economically feasible level. Considerable attention was paid to the necessity for dredging works in the water areas of ports of Mykolayiv, Oktyabrsk, Buh-Dnieper-Lyman, Kherson sea canals, etc.
The meeting participants also considered the status, problems and prospects of development of railway communication in Mykolayiv region.
The Committee members paid particular attention to the implementation of a joint Ukrainian-EBRD-EIB project on electrification of the Znamiyanka-Dolynska-Mykolayiv direction; the construction of double-line railroad section on that destination; reconstruction of the train station Mykolayiv (Odesa railway) and construction of railroad to by-pass the city of Mykolayiv.
The participants of the meeting also discussed the report on the state of affairs at the Mykolayiv International Airport and measures aimed at resumption of its functioning.
After the meeting, the Committee members pointed out the necessity for taking a number of measures on development of transport infrastructure of Mykolayiv region, in particular, expansion of financing of the development and maintenance of motor roads in Mykolayiv region.
