The legislative act sets precise terms of military service under contract during special period, for the cases of state of emergency, that pose a threat on national security; for a case of mobilization and/or martial law.
In compliance with the Law, "The term of military service is set for six months for servicemen under compulsory military service and servicemen drafted in the frames of mobilization, for special period, who served during special period for at least 11 months, persons (dismissed from service during special period), who were drafted under a contract within the period between the start of the mobilization and the date of imposing of martial law or announcement on demobilization." The term of service for such servicemen can be prolonged under new contracts for the period of six months.
Following the end of the special period or declaration of demobilization, the said contracts are terminated ahead of schedule.
Respective amendments were introduced to the Law of Ukraine "On military duty and military service."
Respective draft law was registered under No. 2356а.
