Verkhovna Rada Committee on Taxation and Customs Policy holds roundtable entitled "New tax reform — chance of economic development of mining and metals sector of Ukraine"

The participants of the roundtable organized by the Committee along with the Biznes [Business] publication were people's deputies, representatives of the Ministry of Finance, Economic Development and Trade Ministry, smelting and mining enterprises, as well as representatives of non-government organizations.

The participants of the meeting considered the concept of reformation of the tax system of Ukraine on the whole and discussed problems of big business with the existing tax burden. In particular, the parties paid attention to the major systemic problems — protraction in compensation of the value added tax and refund of income tax overpayments.

The participants also discussed the rates set for subsoil use during the extraction of iron ore, which has increased several times over the last few years.
