Verkhovna Rada Committee on Legal Policy and Justice recommends Ukrainian Parliament adopt draft law "On judicial system and status of judges" (as to necessity for adherence to principle of equality of Constitutional Court judges) as a basis

The Committee members noted that the draft law No. 2318a aims to introduce real reflection of the principle of equality of Constitutional Court judges despite the type of their activity in the past. The people's deputies noted that one of the guarantees to ensure independence of judges enshrined in Section 1 of Article 126 of the Constitution of Ukraine, is their provision with material and social protection (salary, pension, monthly monetary assistance paid on permanent basis, etc.) at the expense of the state.
