Verkhovna Rada adopts Resolution "On Statement of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on 70th anniversary of United Nations and Ukraine's membership of UN"

In compliance with the Statement, "the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine notes the importance of the appointment of the next Secretary General of the UN in 2016."

On the occasion of the 70th UN anniversary, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine confirms unconditional commitment and readiness of Ukraine to make considerable contribution to the fulfillment of the task of protecting further generations from war.

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine calls on the UN member countries to support Ukraine's candidacy at the election to the UN Security Council scheduled for October 15, 2015.

Respective draft resolution was registered under No. 3076.
