Verkhovna Rada Committee on Free Speech and Information Policy gives no support to draft law on introduction of amendments into some legislative acts of Ukraine on improvement of information regime of anti-terror operation

The Secretariat of the Committee has said that the draft law No. 2050a offers to ban promulgation of terror ideology and information aimed at propaganda or justification of terrorism and to introduce criminal responsibility for breaching of the said ban. Participants of the discussion expressed certain concerns over the possibility to bring people, including representatives of mass media organizations, to criminal responsibility for exercising their right to free speech in case the offered amendments bearing inexact wordings are passed.
