Verkhovna Rada Committee on Financial Policy and Banking recommends Ukrainian Parliament adopt as a basis draft law "On introduction of amendments into some legislative acts of Ukraine" (as to improvement of individual deposit guarantee system and withdrawal of insolvent banks from market)

During the discussion, participants of the meeting proposed to adapt the term that envisages the expansion of the list of grounds at which the Fund does not compensate the funds on the deposits. In particular, in case of division of deposits.

According to the Committee Secretariat, eight members of the Committee supported the draft law in first reading, one of ten members present at the meeting abstained.

The Committee also approved the decision to recommend that the Ukrainian Parliament adopt as a basis draft law No. 2045а-1 "On introduction of amendments into some Laws of Ukraine to expand the instruments to withdraw insolvent commercial banks from the market." Respective decision was backed by seven people's deputies, one opposed it and two abstained.

Besides, nine Committee members recommended that the Verkhovna Rada adopt as a basis draft law No. 2188-1 "On introduction of amendments into Law of Ukraine "On individual deposit guarantee system" (as to protection of funds of depositors and other creditors of insolvent banks and restoration of trust in the banking system).
