Verkhovna Rada adopts as a basis draft law "On introduction of amendments into Penal Code of Ukraine" (as to improvement of protection of professional activity of journalists)

The draft law offers to renew the wording of Section 2 of Article 163 of the Penal Code of Ukraine "Violation of secrecy of correspondence, phone conversations, telegraph and other correspondence transmitted via communication means or through computer communication," envisaging introduction of criminal responsibility for the said crimes against journalists.

Respective draft law was registered under No. 1630.
