Verkhovna Rada Committee on Fuel and Energy Complex, Nuclear Policy and Nuclear Safety holds seminar entitled "Energy efficiency — how to support vulnerable consumers"

The participants of the event discussed the plan of measures required to raise energy efficiency of each household consumer and the country on the whole. The issue of reduction in energy consumption, protection of vulnerable consumers in conditions of raised tariffs and encouraging of enterprises and households to save energy

Participants of the event noted that subsidies should not be a lifelong guarantee for every citizen, as such a protection will not encourage an average Ukrainian to become a real energy saver. According to them the Government has to promulgate the schedule of subsidy reduction for households in order to make people to consciously invest into warming of own housing, reduce water and electric energy consumption.
