The Verkhovna Rada Committee for Science and Education will hold an open meeting as to the course of implementation of new Law "On higher education."
The Head of the Committee said this during the roundtable entitled "Higher education reform: students and experts view" on June 10.
The open meeting will take place on July 1 — the anniversary of adoption of the Law of Ukraine "On higher education."
She said that implementation of the Law "On higher education" is somewhat slowed down due to the resistance of conservative part of the academic environment.
She also said that proper implementation of the Law of Ukraine lacks requisite technological solutions.
She pointed to the necessity for new educational standards that would enable students to choose up to 25% of contents of their educational classes independently. "Then every student will be able to feel changes in the system of higher education," Hrynevych noted.
