Verkhovna Rada adopts Law "On introduction of amendments into some legislative acts of Ukraine as to consolidation of part of civil society in combating corruption"

The legislative act introduces the public prosecution institute in the criminal procedure law, which will touch the field of abuse of office (in particular, corruption among officials).

In compliance with the Law, a public prosecutor is any individual or legal entity, who is a direct victim of an offence or the one being aware of commission of an offence, and who provides an investigator, prosecutor with an appeal or notification on commission of respective offence and an application on conduction of criminal proceedings in a form of public prosecution.

Respective draft law was registered under No. 1165.
