At the opening of the event, Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Groysman noted: "I am confident that the introduction of electronic technologies into the process of lawmaking and work of the Ukrainian Parliament will make its work more open, clearer and acceptable for Ukrainian citizens."

He also said he had signed a resolution as to taking respective measures to implement the E-Parliament program.

In the course of the event, Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of French Republic in Ukraine Alain Remy appreciated the renewal of operation of the Center and noted it would help to better understand the principles of work of the Verkhovna Rada, its voting process and results.

Director of the Responsible Accountable Democratic Assembly (RADA) Program In Ukraine Eduard Rakhimkulov told about the mechanism of the Center's work and called on people's deputies to actively use its services. He said the website of the Center will soon provide access to about 30 databases. Rakhimkulov said that in 2015-2016, it is planned to spend about UAH 5 million for maintenance of the Center's operation.

Reference information: The European Information Research Center was established to provide people's deputies with information that can be used in lawmaking. The Center will engage in search, analytical and research work and touch principles of legislative regulation in other states (first of all EU member countries) and international organizations.
