The Verkhovna Rada Committee for State Building, Regional Policy and Local Self-Government has recommended that the Ukrainian Parliament adopt as a basis the draft law “On introduction of amendments into some legislative acts of Ukraine (as to restoration of guarantees of pension coverage for elected local self-government officials and scientists).”

The draft law No. 2554 suggests the abolishment of temporary ban on payment of pensions during the service of elected officials in local self-government bodies through enabling them to receive 85% of the estimated pension size, but not less than 150% of the living wage set for incapacitated persons.
