During its working visit to the United States, members of the Rivni Mozhlyvosti interfaction association Olena Kondratiuk, Iryna Heraschenko, Mariya Ionova, Liliya Hrynevych and Aliona Babak had a meeting with representatives of the U.S. Congress and informed their American colleagues about the situation in Ukraine.
On April 29, the Ukrainian delegation met with Senator Kelly Ayotte. The Senator had many times called on the U.S. Government to provide Ukraine with additional economic assistance to overcome consequences of the conflict unleashed by the Russian Federation in Donbas.
On the same day, Verkhovna Rada deputy Mariya Ionova had an opportunity to speak to the students of one of the higher schools in Washington. The major topic of the discussion also was the conflict in the east of Ukraine.
Besides, the people's deputies met with representatives of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The Ukrainian delegation thanked representatives of this organization for their assistance to Ukraine in overcoming consequences of the conflict. They informed USAID representatives about the steps the Ukrainian authorities are making to hold effective economic reforms and to fight corruption.
