The Verkhovna Rada Committee for Social Policy, Employment and Pension Coverage has recommended that the Ukrainian Parliament adopt as a basis and on the whole draft law No. 1865 on introduction of amendments into the Law of Ukraine “On mandatory state social insurance” (as to partial financing of sanatorium-preventoriums of higher education establishments)
Head of the Committee Liudmyla Denisova pointed out the importance of support to health of Ukrainian students.
The draft law offers to regulate the issue of partial financing of the said establishments at the expense of the Social Insurance Fund of Ukraine.
The state budget for 2015 envisions expenditures of UAH 100 million for the financing of only youth sports schools. That will allow financing 534 sports schools and preserve coaches and teaching staff and pupils.
At the same time, the financing of sanatorium-preventoriums of higher education establishments is not envisioned in the state budget for 2015 and the budget of the Social Insurance Fund.
The implementation of the draft law in case of its endorsement will monthly require about UAH 4 million from mandatory state social insurance, which will allow improvement of health of over 42,000 students, retain material and technical base of about 50 sanatorium-preventoriums of higher education establishments, and give job to over 1,200 medical workers.
