Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopts Law “On introduction of amendments into some legislative acts of Ukraine” as to protection of wildlife

In May-June, the Law obliges local self-government bodies to declare “silence seasons” at sites of animal population boom, to provide enhanced protection of animals, and bans use of different electronic and mechanized traps.

For the period of animal population boom from April 1 through June 15, the Law bans holding any operations and works that may be a source of enhanced noise.

Advertising and any other activities that popularize or distribute prohibited traps and devices used in catching animals entail levying of fines worth 30-60 tax-exempt minimum personal incomes on citizens; and 50-100 tax-exempt minimum personal incomes on officials and/or on advertisers.

Respective draft law was registered under No. 0916.
