Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopts Law “On ratification of Agreement between Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and Government of Romania on consolidation of trust and security”

The Law ratifies the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of Romania on measures aimed at consolidation of trust and security signed in Kyiv on March 10, 2014.

The Agreement regulates military cooperation between Ukraine and Romania in the zones along Ukrainian-Romanian state border. In particular, it specifies the zone of application of the Agreement, order of informing the Parties about military activity, mutual invitation of observers, holding inspections of the said areas, meetings of experts and other issues.

Besides, Ukraine is obliged (Article 6 of the Agreement) not to keep and not to deploy “offensive weaponry” on the Island of Zmiinyi.

Respective draft law was registered under No. 0013.
