 TSC on Protection of IDPs’ Rights

The draft law on the inventory of real estate objects and the creation of an interactive housing map for IDPs will soon be considered by the Verkhovna Rada.

The Committee on Human Rights, Deoccupation and Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories recommended that the Verkhovna Rada support and adopt in the 1st reading the draft law of our TSK on the protection of the rights of IDPs and other persons 11281 on conducting an inventory of all real estate objects for further transfer to preferential rent for accommodation of displaced persons and creation of an information base of affordable housing in the form of an interactive map.

The draft law provides for an audit and survey of all real estate objects of all forms of ownership in which resettled people can live. And the result of this system inventory should be a public interactive map.

The interactive map can be used by:

  •  resettlers, who will have the opportunity to choose the object where they want to live;
  •  bodies of state power and local self-government;
  •  individuals and legal entities.

The authorities will be able to communicate with international humanitarian and charitable organizations regarding the necessary repairs and reconstruction of the relevant objects to bring them into a habitable state.

TSK continues to make efforts to solve the housing problem of internally displaced persons.
