Oleksandr Turchynov: We will become a powerful European country with invincible army, and no one will stop us on this way

On Wednesday, Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov opened the XII International specialized exhibition “Weapons and Security-2014” that is being held simultaneously with the International Exhibition for Aviation and Space Industry "AviaWorld-XXI".
Welcoming participants and guests of the exhibition, he stressed that
this forum is being held for the eleventh year in a row. However, this year
attention to the exhibition is a special one since the issue of safety of the country
that withstands aggression is especially topical. “In this situation we should use the best weapon system and protection of our military,” stressed Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada, expressing hope that “this is the place where contracts, providing military men with the protection means they are badly in need of, will be signed.”
Chairperson of the Parliament noted that Ukraine is among a few countries possessing its own aerospace complex. According to him, this is one of the “most promising trends supported by the Ukrainian Government.” “We should reinforce our army with the best samples of planes, helicopters and unmanned aircraft, and meanwhile we should also display concern about peaceful use of space and aviation,” claimed Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada.
Oleksandr Turchynov said that today Ukraine is in the extremely complicated environment. At the same time he stressed that “we should do our best to develop defense and aerospace complex and support advanced research and development.” Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada expressed confidence that Ukraine “will overcome all the challenges and will emerge the winner with an invincible and best equipped army.” “We will become a powerful European country. This is our way and no one will be able to stop us,” he said.
Guests and participants of the exhibition observed a minute of silence in tribute to the memory of Ukrainian soldiers who died for Ukrainian independence and its territorial integrity.
