Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov referred for consideration by the Parliament the draft Resolution on depriving deputies-traitors, who participated in the work of the Russian State Duma on September 17, this year, of the right to participate in the plenary meetings and the salary for the period of non-participation in the work of the committees, commissions and factions of the Parliament.

Chairperson of the Parliament has also addressed the Prosecutor’s General Office of Ukraine, the Internal Affairs Ministry and the Security Service of Ukraine with a request “to provide legal evaluation of traitorous activity, promotion of separatism and aggression against Ukraine on the part of these people’s deputies.”

“On September 17, 2014 a group of people’s deputies – members of the deputy group “For Peace and Stability” met with the Speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Sergey Naryshkin and participated in the meeting of the State Duma, having demonstrated their collective standing that actually was confined to supporting current Russian government that has released and continues aggression against Ukraine. Owing to their efforts, the history of Ukrainian parliamentarism was enriched with a new black page.

Their actions, committed under a dubious claim of a peaceful mission, have blemished Ukrainian parliamentarism and betrayed the people of Ukraine who have become the victim of unprovoked aggression on the part of authoritarian aggression,” the draft Resolution reads.
