In her opening speech, Chairperson of the Committee noted: “It is after the Revolution of Dignity that we were able to adopt a new Law “On Higher education’ that offers a true systemic reform in the sphere of higher education.

A war is a great gap that withdraws money, people and attention. However, the society today understands that it should change, despite different conservative groups of interests, present in each sphere.”

“Efficient implementation of the Law “On Higher education” is a challenge for the Ukrainian society. That is why it requires consolidated efforts on the part of the Ministry of Science and Education and all academic communities, as well as consolidation of employers’ associations and interest NGOs,” stressed Lilia Hrynevych.

“Private educational establishments in the Ukrainian educational system exist in much more severe competitive conditions than state-owned higher educational establishments since they do not have a guaranteed state support. Thus, the constitutional principle of equality of types of ownership has become one of the basic values enshrined in the Law “On Higher Education”.

Further conversation was held in the form of questions and responses regarding peculiarities of implementation of the Law “On Higher Education” in regard to private higher educational establishments.

The event, held on September 18 in the European University, was organized by the Association of Private Educational Establishments of Ukraine with participation of members of Coordination Council of Association of Private Educational Establishments of Ukraine, rectors, directors and executive secretaries of admission offices of private higher educational establishments.
