Conference was held on September 18 in the National Technical University “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”.

“Today a very important task lies ahead of us – preparation of our society as a competitive one. If we chose the way to Europe, we should join this family as competitive citizens,” noted Chairperson of the Committee in her speech to the participants of the Conference.

Liliia Hrynevych stressed that this can be done only by increasing quality of education,

“The experience of dual education as a form of professional education is extremely interesting for us. However, our problem today lies in the two sides of dual education: the side of education and that of employers. Unfortunately, there is practically no systemic correlation between the system of education and the labour market, even on the level of legislation. It has partially been established due to the newly adopted Law “On Higher Education”,” noted the Committee Chairperson.

It will be possible to establish a systemic correlation only if there is an institutional platform between these systems.

“The biggest problem of dual education in Ukraine lies in the fact that we fail to motivate employers invest into the system of dual education. Employers will be ready to participate in the system of education as soon as they are sure that their requirements will be considered within the standards of education content. Apart from that, economic mechanisms for stimulating employers to participate in dual education should be working,” said L.Hrynevych.

Friedrich Ebert Foundation Mission in Ukraine and the Ukrainian Marketing Association were organizers of the conference.
