Dear friends, filmmakers and all those interested in cinema!
I congratulate you on the Day of Ukrainian Cinema.
Some people say that there is no Ukrainian cinema, some – that there has never been one, but I will say that the Ukrainian cinema was, is and will be!
I hope the war will soon become history, and we will perceive it through the prism of worldview of the creative group Babylon'13 and those heroes-documentalists who, despite of the danger, did not let cameras out of their hands, recording that tragic and heroic epoch of our history.
Jean-Luc Godard said "cinema is the truth at twenty-four frames a second". I thank all who create this truth today regardless of the almost complete absence of the state funding. Be sure that Ukraine will win and will not forget its heroes!
