Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov met with Project Manager at Norwegian-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce Arnfinn Nordbo within the framework of his official visit to the Kingdom of Norway.
During the meeting, the Parties discussed the issue of intensifying
bilateral cooperation and attracting Norwegian investments into the Ukrainian
economy.Oleksandr Turchynov stressed that despite the military actions, Ukraine has initiated serious reforming of economy, particularly, in the part of simplifying taxation system and bringing the national legislation system in line with the European standards.
“We wish to establish attractive conditions for investors,” stressed Oleksandr Turchynov and underlined that it is planned to adopt important legislative initiatives, aimed at fighting corruption.
In his turn, Arnfinn Nordbo emphasized the interest of his country in further development of trade relations with Ukraine, especially in the sphere of IT, energy and agro-industrial complex.
Apart from this, it went about the launch of a training programme for Ukrainian students and young entrepreneurs on the basis of Kyiv School of Economics and the University of Norland with a view to intensify development of Norwegian-Ukrainian business. “We can see the great potential of Ukraine,” noted Arnfinn Nordbo, having stressed that Norwegian-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce hopes for activation of bilateral cooperation.
As informed earlier, Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov pays an official visit to the Kingdom of Norway with a view to participate in the European Conference of Presidents of Parliaments.
Under the programme of the visit, Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Turchynov shall deliver the speech to the participants of the Conference within the framework of the discussion "Democracy, Sovereignty, and Security in Europe", and shall meet with leaders of international parliamentary organizations and parliaments of European countries.
