The Committee on Legislative Support of Law Enforcement recommends that the Verkhovna Rada adopt as a basis the draft law on amendments to several legislative acts of Ukraine re terminating Ukrainian citizenship for persons who have committed crimes against principles of national security of Ukraine

The bill (Reg. No. 4262а) suggests strengthening criminal responsibility for committing crimes against principles of national security. Particularly, it is suggested to supplement a system of measures of criminal and legal nature stipulated by the Criminal Code with a measure of terminating Ukrainian citizenship.     

The draft also suggests supplementing the Law "On Ukrainian Citizenship" with article 19-1 "Terminating Ukrainian citizenship for persons who have committed crimes against principles of national security of Ukraine".   

The Committee members upheld the bill, adoption of which will strengthen protective function of the Criminal Code articles.
