Russia's task is to destroy independent democratic Ukraine. Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov said this in an interview to "channel 5".
In his words, Russia is conducting war not to seize Donetsk or Luhansk Oblasts.
"Russia is interested in Ukraine as a part of a new empire they dream of", he emphasized and explained that "such dreams are an inadequate formula of perceiving the society, it is a formula of imposition of a new paradigm".
Oleksandr Turchynov claimed such behaviour of "imposing a paradigm of aggression and violence" in a new century poses a great danger not merely for our country but for the collective security system in Europe.
"Putin is conducting a war against the whole Ukraine. His task is to destroy independent democratic Ukraine. Ukraine that has chosen a democratic way of development", claimed the Chair of the Parliament, stressing that the infrastructure in the East is completely ruined.
