Ukraine would like European Party to buy gas on the border with Russia and not on border with our country.
This was announced by Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Turchynov answering questions during a joint press conference of Parliamentary Speakers of the Nordic and Baltic Countries on August 17-19 (Palanga, the Republic of Lithuania) on Monday.
In words of the Parliament's Leader, Russia is conducting war against Ukraine not only in the East but in the economy as well. "One of its components is the gas war. The Russian Federation wants to dictate its policy regarding this issue and resorts to blackmail", he claimed.
Oleksandr Turchynov reminded that the Ukrainian Party has filed a lawsuit to the Stockholm Arbitration Court about a monopolistic dictate of "Gazprom".
Oleksandr Turchynov stressed that the Verkhovna Rada creates conditions for attracting transparent investments from Europe and the USA for reforming national gas transportation system which "should ensure uninterrupted supply of gas to Europe".
"We would like European Party to buy gas on the border with Russia. I also hope that European countries will share such Ukrainian stand", summed up the Chairperson of the Parliament.
As it was informed earlier, Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Turchynov will participate in the Conference of Parliamentary Speakers of the Nordic and Baltic Countries on August 17-19 (Palanga, the Republic of Lithuania).
