Opening the plenary meeting on Tuesday, Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Turchynov reminded that on July 17, 2014, "terrorists shot down the plane "Boeing-777" of Malaysian Airlines, headed from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, with Russian anti-aircraft missile system "Buk" in the East of Ukraine".

The Chair of the Parliament claimed none of 298 people aboard, including 80 children, survived.

"On behalf of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine I express sincere condolences to relatives and friends of the deceased", said Oleksandr Turchynov, and the MPs commemorated the deceased with a minute of silence.

"All criminals involved in this horrible crime will not avoid just punishment. It is urgent to unite efforts of not only Ukrainian citizens but the global society as well in the fight against international terrorism which is being coordinated and financed by the Russian Federation", claimed Oleksandr Turchynov. "Respective resolutions have been submitted by people's deputies, and I hope the Verkhovna Rada will adopt them in entirety today".
