Oleksandr Turchynov: During this plenary week the Parliament will consider several important issues regarding strengthening Ukraine’s defense capacity and overcoming socio-economic crisis

It is planned to consider 93 issues during this plenary week. Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov informed this opening Conciliatory Council meeting on Monday.

According to him, there shall be primarily considered the bills on strengthening defense capacity of our country and increasing fight against terrorism and separatism, etc. that were referred by the people’s deputies and the Government.

Oleksandr Turchynov stressed that apart from this, the Decree of the President of Ukraine on partial mobilization, that should be signed as based on the decision of the NSDC, will be also one of the first to be considered on Tuesday.  

Oleksandr Turchynov noted that “after the developments in the East of Ukraine, when international terrorists showed their faces having shot down a plane”, the Parliament should address all the civilized countries with a proposal to pool efforts in fighting international terrorism. He said that the respective draft Resolution is also suggested to be considered one of the first on Tuesday.  

Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada reminded that extremely important parliamentary hearings entitled “Ukraine’s defense capacity in the XXI century: challenges, threats and ways to overcome them” will be held on Wednesday.

During this plenary week the Parliament has to consider the package of legislative acts referred by the Government and aimed to counteract socio-economic crisis.

The last package, proposed to voting, is connected with elections to local councils of different level, said Oleksandr Turchynov.
