The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted as a basis the draft law on restructuring foreign currency credit commitments into hryvnia

 The bill stipulates restructuring foreign currency credit commitments into hryvnia, if foreign currency credit commitment corresponds to the following criteria: consumer received credit within the meaning of the Law “On Consumers’ Rights Protection”; credit was received for the purchase of residential property or proprietary rights to residential property that is the only dwelling of a natural person or his/her family, and is secured by this residential property or proprietary rights; general sum of the unpaid credit debt commitments does not exceed UAH 1 mln. at the official exchange rate of hryvnia against foreign currencies as of 01/01/2014; absence of a credit debt commitments as of 01/01/2014 or credit debt commitments paid prior to restructuring.
