The Interim Inquiry Commission on examining the use of army’s funds will insist on consideration and adoption of the bill on simplifying state procurement for providing operational support to the activity of the Armed Forces of Ukraine this week

 The Interim Inquiry Commission (IIC) on examining the use of funds transferred by the Ukrainian citizens to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and expenditures from the State Budget of Ukraine directed at the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations will insist on taking the decision regarding the bill “On amendments to article 2 of the Law of Ukraine “On State Procurement” this week. The bill will help promptly provide the Armed Forces with the necessary food, medicine and military equipment for the period of military actions, antiterrorist operations and the state of emergency.

The bill aims at simplifying procurement procedure for the Defence Ministry of Ukraine, the National Guard of Ukraine and the State Border Service of Ukraine during the special period; imposition of the state of emergency; and in the course of antiterrorist operation.

Members of the IIC noted that due to the Commission’s active stand, the Government has finally decided to carry out check in the ATO area regarding transparency and expedience of procurement for the army.  

The IIC took the decision that Oleksii Kaida, member of the IIC, should participate in the another meeting of the Cabinet of Minister of Ukraine in order to inform the Government about the Commission’s activity and the problematics connected with procurement in order to ensure functioning of the Armed Forces.
