It is recommended to establish a twenty-four-hour hotline at the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine on matters of needs of the Armed Forces and problems of mobilized in order to check the use of funds transferred by the Ukrainian citizens to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and expenditures from the State Budget of Ukraine directed at needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations.
The Interim Inquiry Commission took such a decision after granting a hearing to the representatives of the Defence Ministry of Ukraine and the State Treasury Service of Ukraine during the Committee’s meeting on June 19.
Chairperson of the Interim Inquiry Commission Iryna Herashchenko informed that the Commission keeps daily receiving disturbing messages form different regions of Ukraine, as well as from those mobilized and members of their families regarding unsatisfactory equipment of military units.
In his turn, Director of the Defence Ministry Finance Department Ivan Marko informed that defense expenditures from the State Budget of Ukraine in 2014 amount to UAH 15,2 billion.
The people’s deputies have also provided numerous examples that testify to the fact that military hospitals lack the necessary medicaments and equipment.
The Interim Inquiry Commission took the decision to submit several addresses to the respective ministries in regard to the issues that were raised during the meeting, particularly, those pertaining to non-fulfillment of the Resolutions of the Verkhovna Rada by the Cabinet of Ministers.
