The Committee on Construction, Urban Development, Housing and Communal Services and Regional Policy recommends that the Verkhovna Rada adopt as a basis the draft law on amendments to clause 3 of sector VIII of the Law of Ukraine "On ensuring implementation of housing rights of dormitory residents" (re term of moratorium on dormitories alienation)

The bill (Reg. No. 4030а) suggests expand a moratorium on dormitories alienation (except for transference into local communities' property) from 6 to 10 years (until 01.01.2019).     

It was stressed during the meeting that the bill aims at protecting dormitory residents from illegal eviction.  

Dormitories, the Law "On ensuring implementation of housing rights of dormitory residents" No. 500-УІ dd. 04.09.2008 applies to, host over 450 000 persons.   

It was said that local communities should receive those dormitories the current Law applies to.     

Following the discussion, the people's deputies upheld the bill, adoption of which will promote decreasing possible social tension and will prevent violating constitutional housing and property rights of citizens, Ukrainian legislation on housing rights of dormitory residents applies to.
