The Committee on Judicial Policy recognized the draft law on amendments to several legislative acts of Ukraine (re driver license) as non-contradicting provisions of the Constitution of Ukraine

The Committee’s members informed that the bill (Reg. No. 4550) is aimed at legislative regulation of legal bases of organization and activity of State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine on providing administrative services of issuing and exchanging driver license for the right to drive vehicles.

It was also mentioned that in order to reach the aim, the author suggests amend article 13 excluding driver license from the list of documents identifying the person and confirming their special status, exclude article 29 and paragraph two of clause 1 of sector V “Transitional Provisions” of the Law “On unified state register of demographics and documents confirming the citizenship of Ukraine, proving persons’ identity or their special status”, as well as to amend paragraphs two and four of chapter two of article 15 of the Law “On Road Traffic”.
