The law establishes that anti-terrorist operation is a complex of coordinated special measures aimed at prevention and cessation of terrorist activities; release of hostages; maintaining public safety; liquidation of terrorists; and minimization of consequences of terrorist activity.
The document includes a provision under which, the Defence Ministry of Ukraine, bodies of military administration, bodies of troops and military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine secure protection of objects and property of the Armed Forces of Ukraine against terrorist encroachment; organize preparation and involvement of forces and means of the Army, the Air Forces, and the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in case of commitment of a terrorist act in airspace or territorial waters of Ukraine; and participate in the anti-terrorist operations on military objects; etc.
The document provides the list of tasks that should be accomplished by special units and units of special purpose that are directly involved in fighting terrorism, in case of commitment or a threat of commitment of a terrorist acts.
