During its meeting on June 4, Committee members discussed the draft law on amendments to the Law “On Citizens’ Participation in Protection of Public Order and State Border” (re the use of weapons), registered under No. 4914. The people’s deputies deem that the bill can be adopted under the condition of consideration of proposal to allow equip members of public units that protect public order and state border only for the period of service only.
The Committee has also considered the draft law on amendments to several legislative acts re state procurement (Reg. No. 4886). Following the results of discussion, the decision was taken to recommend the Committee on Economic Policy, as specializing on this issue, to adopt it as a basis with consideration of remarks of the Scientific Experts Office.
The Committee recommended also that the Verkhovna Rada should reject the draft resolution on refinement of the system of bodies of financial control (Reg. No. 4894) regarding liquidation of certain bodies.
Committee members recommended that the author of the bill should get involved in the work done within the framework of the working group on elaboration of the concept of reforming the law-enforcement system, established by the Cabinet of Ministers.
Several issues were considered behind the closed doors.
