Members of the Committee for Informatization and Information Technologies approved the Concept of holding parliamentary hearings “Legislative insurance of informational society development in Ukraine”

At the Committee’s meeting on May 20, amendments were made to the working group’s composition and the Concept of holding parliamentary hearings “Legislative insurance of informational society development in Ukraine”, which are to be held on June 18, 2014 at 3 p.m. in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine plenary meetings hall (5 Hrushevskoho str.), was approved.    

Parliamentary hearings will promote a wide social discussion, accelerate introducing new information and communication technologies in the country’s social and economic sphere, and will become a starting point for large-scale initiatives and transformations in this area.      

Representatives of executive and legislative authorities, NGOs, institutions of software industry, Ukrainian and foreign experts will participate in the hearings.   

At the meeting, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee Ruslan Lukianchuk reported on the state of preparation for the parliamentary hearings, and the Committee determined approximate list of issues of the hearings:  

strategy and principles of developing informational society of Ukraine;

e-governance;

humanitarian sector during the informational era (education, science, culture,

medicine, etc);

development of electronic economy;

informational security;

legislative support of the informational society development.
