According to Oleksandr Turchynov, the issue of holding presidential elections on May 25 is extremely important to Ukraine.
“Despite all the provocations of the Russian Federation and attempts to disrupt elections with the help of their terrorist groups that operate in the East, we will secure holding of elections on May 25,” he said, adding that after presidential elections “construction of a governmental architecture in the country will be fully completed.”
Apart from this, Chairman of the Parliament expressed conviction that “elections will be held fairly and transparently” throughout the country.
Also, in the course of conversation, the Parties discussed prospects of Ukrainian European way and the issue of visa regime liberalization for the citizens of Ukraine.
“Experience of the country that has already made its way from a
Post-Soviet to a European state is extremely important for us,” noted Oleksandr
Turchynov and stressed that expert assistance in this issue is also of great
importance to us. In this context, Urmas Paet expressed conviction that the main part of the EU Association Agreement “will be quickly signed after the elections.”
“Then the projects and programmes that pertain to multilateral reforms in Ukraine will start working,” he said.
Besides, the Parties emphasized that the second stage of visa regime liberalization is beginning and it should end with total abolishment of visas for Ukrainians by the end of the year.
