The first All-Ukrainian round-table of national unity will be held in the Verkhovna Rada on May 14.

Acting President of Ukraine, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov and Prime-Minister of Ukraine Arsenii Yatseniuk announced the initiative of holding round-tables in their joint statement on May 8.   

“We are ready to talk with everyone who have legitimate political goals and who are ready to defend them with legal means – with those who do not have blood on their hands. We invite representatives of political forces from all regions, public society and scientific circles to a dialogue on all issues and challenges that Ukrainian people are facing now”, the statement reads.   

Oleksandr Turchynov and Arsenii Yatseniuk stressed that this dialogue aims at forming national consensus on key problems for Ukrainian society. Elaborated proposals with participation of all political forces will be implemented by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, including mechanism of amendments to the Constitution and legislation of Ukraine, claimed the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Prime-Minister of Ukraine.

Oleksandr Turchynov and Arsenii Yatseniuk invited all participants of the political process and public representatives to contribute to implementing this initiative.   

Presidents of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk and Leonid Kuchma, Prime-Minister of Ukraine Arsenii Yatseniuk, officials, candidates for the post of President of Ukraine, chairpersons of administrations and city councils, representatives of local self-government, scientists, representatives of religious organizations, business circles, public and international organizations as well as public figures are invited to participate in the round-table.
