Pope Francis prays for finding peaceful ways to settle crisis in Ukraine – a letter to the Acting President of Ukraine, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov.
In his letter, Head of the Roman Catholic Church expresses his feelings to the Ukrainian people “especially remembering victims of intense conflicts that erupted in the past several months, as well as those suffering due to current developments.”
“At the same time, I reassure you of my pray, so that the Authority of Your Country, the Parties involved and the entire international community did not stop searching for peaceful decisions through dialogue and negotiations, patiently and by using all possible means in this direction.
I do not doubt that everything possible will be done to calm the souls and restore relations of mutual respect and trust by overcoming the atmosphere of distrust and oppression that risks to spread even more and hinder reaching of joint and long-lasting agreements,” Pope’s address reads.
