The Committee on Science and Education discussed the issue on preparation for holding parliamentary hearings entitled “Education, healthcare and social welfare for children with psychophysical developmental disorders: problems and ways to solve them” and “On the status and legislative support to development of science and scientific and technical spheres of the country”

In particular, it was noted that under the Resolution of the Verkhovna Rada No. 1158-VIІ of March 25, 2014 “Education, healthcare and social welfare for children with psychophysical developmental disorders: problems and ways to solve them” such parliamentary hearings will be held on June 4, 2014 at 3 p.m. in the session hall of the Parliament (5, Hrushevskoho str.).
Committee members stressed that parliamentary hearings aim at studying the issues of education, health care, and social maintenance of children with psychophysical developmental disorders. Discussion of the abovementioned problems at parliamentary hearings will promote refinement of legislation and other regulatory legal acts that determine state policy in the sphere of social protection, health care and education of persons with disabilities.
It was noted that at present, 4 bills (Reg. No. 2878, 2348а, 2594а and 2885) on legislative settlement of the rights of children with special educational needs are at consideration in the Verkhovna Rada.
The Committee believes that adoption of the abovementioned laws is extremely topical and holding of parliamentary hearings on these issues will promote both qualitative preparation of the abovementioned laws and elaboration of Recommendations to parliamentary hearings.
The Committee has also approved action plan and composition of the working group on preparation and holding of parliamentary hearings entitled “On the status and legislative support to development of science and scientific and technical spheres of the country”.
The Committee considered these issues in order to implement the Resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of March 25, 2014 No. 1159-VII “On holding parliamentary hearings entitled “On the status and legislative support to development of science and scientific and technical spheres of the country”.
It was noted that parliamentary hearings will be held on July 2, 2014 at 3 p.m. in the session hall of the Parliament (5 Hrushevskoho str.).
Committee members noted that parliamentary hearings aim at elaborating new approaches to reformation and development of scientific sphere in Ukraine in the context of preparation of amendments to the Law “On Scientific and Sci-Tech Activity”.
