At the Committee’s meeting it was mentioned that the bill (Reg. No. 4389) is aimed at ensuring guarantees of legal and social protection of illegally convicted persons, eliminating consequences of lawlessness and providing rehabilitated persons with compensation for illegal actions.
The Committee members said that the draft law suggested establish the Commission on rehabilitation of illegally convicted persons consisting of 15 persons, 10 of whom being judges (retired judges) and 5 – public representatives; its composition should be approved by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
In the process of elaborating this bill for the second reading, subjects with the right of legislative initiative introduced 2 amendments, which were taken into consideration following the results of consideration.
